Guestbook

Guest reviews and comments are really important to us; not only do they give us a pat on the back when we get things right - we also pick up suggestions for improving our service when things aren't quite as they should be.

We do listen, and we never rest on our laurels!

We are constantly trying to improve, and our guests' feedback is a vital part of this process. We welcome online reviews - you can add a review below for the property you stayed at. Apart from online reviews, we do have a visitors' book in many of the properties. Lastly, we email every one of our guests on their return to the UK, to invite their feedback.

Below is a very brief selection of online reviews, extracts from visitors' book comments and/or emails we have received. We could easily fill several pages, but this should give you an idea of the comments we have received over the last few years. Copies of the actual guest book entries, emails, online reviews etc, are available for inspection on request.

These people can't all be wrong...

  • Horizon Apartments: Dawn

Thanks for accommodating us in Kalkan. It is our 2nd visit to Kalkan but first to Horizon Apartments which we found to be of an excellent standard, everything we needed for our stay, fresh towels provided every few days a bed change half way through our holiday too. The pool was a perfect size ample sunbeds. The block is really close to the town where there are amazing restaurants to choose from, trips to book, bars to relax in and a beach. We will be sure to re visit Kalkan in a few years and would be sure to come back to Kalkan Secrets thanks Fiona

What a lovely villa! We stayed 11 days and enjoyed every second. Beautifully fitted out with everything you need and the furnishings are gorgeous. It definitely didn't disappoint.

The location to the sea, restaurants and the harbour is amazing and we would highly recommend.

    Thank you.

  • Horizon Apartments: Sunset

Our feedback would be everything is perfect, everything you could ever want for self catering and very well equipped throughout.
As per our previous stay the whole place is immaculately clean, comfortable and we can’t wait to return.
If/when we sort our holiday dates for next year we will certainly check your availability, but we definitely be looking to return in the coming years.

    Thanks again to you both.

  • Falcon Exclusive Villa

Just stayed for 2 weeks for the 2nd time in this amazing villa, views to die for, fab pool, everything provided in the villa that you could need, taxis up and down into kalkan were no issue, came in 5 minutes and only cost about £3, we will be back, 10 times to kalkan in different hotels and villas and this was our favourite one, staying in Falcon Villa as a group of 14 was so much fun and a lovely spacious clean villa

  • Villa Alexander

Just back from a 2 week stay at Villa Alexander which was amazing. Any small issue was dealt with locally by Jane and her team swiftly. The views from the villa bedrooms and pool area are stunning! The pool is great for midnight swims in August! :-) I would thoroughly recommend one of the local companies to come in a cook for you. We used Korsan to prepare and cook an excellent BBQ for us. This is a spectacular villa. We did not want to leave!

We all had a wonderful time.
Mustafa was very welcoming and his boat was awesome.
No doubt I will be in touch again.
Please also pass on my sincere thanks to Emin for the car and transportation
    Best wishes for now

  • Horizon Apartments: Sunset

We had a super nine days in Sunset Apartment this summer. It was spotlessly clean and fabulously well-equipped. The pool was great - beautifully maintained and very quiet. The apartments are ideally located close to the old town.

  • This was our second visit to Horizon. We stayed in Dusk last time, on the ground floor. When we booked we were a group of 6, however 2 dropped out. The apartment was very clean and spacious and would easily accommodate 6 people. There is plenty of storage space for clothes. There are plenty of dishes and cutlery. In fact, there is everything you need in a kitchen. It is in a great place to access all shops and bars without the need for taxis. The pool is huge and many days we had it to ourselves (apart from the the many cute cats and kittens).

  • Apartment Minerva

This apartment was perfect for us as it had everything we needed and more. It was located within easy reach of the shops and restaurants, but set slightly back from the main road and was a great place to chill and relax by the pool. There were 3 apartments in our block and only 2 were occupied, one of which by a resident who was out working for most of the day so we did have the pool to ourselves. The pool area and gardens were beautifully maintained. The apartment itself was modern and spacious with some lovely outdoor seating areas.
There are a couple of English residents in both blocks who are more than helpful in giving restaurant recommendations, advice on places to visit, shop etc and just very pleasant to chat to.
All our taxi transfers were organised by Fiona and everything ran perfectly smoothly, as did the whole holiday booking process.
I had never been to Kalkan before and I would certainly return. They have some fabulous restaurants and we ate out everyday. The Turkish breakfasts are amazing and huge and will keep you going until dinner time. I can honestly say that we did not have one bad meal and we were there for 10 nights.

  • Villa Alexander

The villa is fantastic , spacious , clean with all mod -cons . Short walk into town for plenty of restaurants and bars , get a taxi back ! Would also recommend Mahal beach club , great for water sports and sunbathing during the day , also very good restaurant for lunch and dinner. Fiona arranged all our transfers and they were faultless , we will be going back !

  • Stayed in the 2 bed 2nd floor apartments.
Great outside space 2 huge balconies .
2 beds both with en suite .
    Great kitchen facilities.
Situated on level with the Thursday market .
Pretty much had the pool to ourselves so was very quiet some days with us being the only ones there.
    Internet on site .
    Kitchen facilities everything covered .
Plenty of beach towels provided .
Washer and iron in the apartment.
    Enjoyed our stay .

  • Blueberry 1 Apartment

We finally made it to Kalkan after the pandemic forced us to reschedule twice. Fiona was brilliant in sorting out alternative dates and it was definitely worth waiting for!
The apartment is fabulous and in a great location (opposite the Thursday market) and just a short walk in to the centre. It is well equipped, spotlessly clean and the outside space is amazing. The pool is around 1.6m deep so non swimmers might prefer to use floats but it wasn’t an issue for us. The welcome pack provided was very much appreciated too.
The only thing I felt was missing was a basket or shelf in the shower to put toiletries on, other than that I really couldn’t fault the apartment.

  • Villa Destiny

Villa Destiny is a beautiful, well equipped Villa with a gorgeous pool and lots of outside areas.

We really enjoyed being able to walk down to Kalkan most evenings as there are so many great restaurants and it was easy and cheap to get a taxi back up the hill at the end of the night. Taxis, food deliveries and often restaurants could be booked via Whatsapp which was so convenient.

Julie (the Owner) was so helpful - she always responded very promptly to any questions and was extremely accommodating when Covid changes where necessary. She arranged airport transfers, boat trips, shopping deliveries and recommended excellent restaurants and Beach Clubs.

Thank you Julie for making our holiday just perfect - we will definitely return.

    — Amanda F, 20 Jul 2022
  • Villa Mercan

The perfect holiday destination, we could not fault this Villa.
Extremely comfortable and perfectly located for dips in the sea or a wander into Kalkan for supper or some shopping.
We had a week here with the whole family, we spent every other day exploring so many amazing local places and the days between relaxing by the pool or by the sea. It was total bliss.
Kalkan Secrets were great to deal with especially with the Covid issues over the last two years. Will definitely book again.

  • Villa Eternity

Review of a stay in May 2022: The level of Service you provided was exceptional, you made the process stress free yet very attentive and easy to approach. The Villa was such a good space for us all, the views are stunning, rooms very spacious and well presented. Julie put us in contact with the local grocery store via WhatsApp - they where fantastic delivering all the essentials within no time, we used them for the 2 weeks that we where there which made life so easy. We very much enjoyed our visit to Turkey, the people where friendly, food was great as was the location. We made some very special memories we will all cherish.

  • Falcon Exclusive Villa

Recently rented Falcon Exclusive for a large family celebration. It is an amazing villa, exceptionally clean and has a very well stocked kitchen with more plates, mugs, bowls, equipment than you could possibly use. Very well furnished, comfortable beds, balcony and sea views from every bedroom.
Plenty of space for everyone inside and out and the infinity pool was excellent. We had 4 small children and having a very shallow end in which you can place sunloungers was ideal for the children to play safely.
The outside terraces were all cleaned daily.
We did have a couple of issues with the villa though. Firstly the Wi-Fi was very slow for the first couple of days but when guests moved into the ‘sister’ villa next door the Wi-Fi was non existent. The only way round this was to purchase data daily. Maybe range extenders could be placed in the rooms?
Secondly, the villa is advertised as sleeping 18 people but outside there was one small 2 seater sofa with a cushion and 2 chairs with cushions. There were also some hard plastic chairs dotted around. We were told we could carry the inside furniture outside if we wanted more seating. Not really something you want to be doing daily on holiday.

  • This was our fourth time back to Kalkan and fourth time with Kalkan Secrets.

As always the service that Fiona and Martin provides made the whole booking process very smooth even with regular flight changes.

We first came as a couple and now have returned with our two children (3 & 1). Blueberry was perfect for us allowing for comfortable evenings in and pleasant days by the pool. All facilities were fantastic.

Blueberry is close to the shops and the food options in this area have improved in the past few years. Great to see some of our favourites still operating including Moonlight, Lime, Hunkar and Moussaka.

Thanks to Fiona for another great holiday and helping us make more happy memories. Already thinking about our 2023 holiday!

  • Falcon Villas: Villa Kalkan

    Fantastic location
Gorgeous villa, well equipped, modern, very clean to the highest standard.
We’ve stayed here before and have never been disappointed.
A very short walk to the old town and well stocked supermarket.
    Would definitely book there again.
Very handy for large group with Falcon villa next door and shared pool.
    Highly recommend

  • Villa Eternity

Our family had a completely wonderful holiday at Villa Eternity over half term. Every need had been considered and whereby other villas state that they sleep 16, there is a dining table for 8 or only 6 sun loungers etc. Villa Eternity completely accommodates 16 people! The bedrooms are beautiful, all with en-suite bathrooms with an extra one off the lower ground floor gym/bar/tv room/indoor pool area plus one on the ground floor too. There are comfortable seats everywhere and plenty of room to spread out. The infinity pool was kept spotless and to be swimming in it with the spectacular view over the Kalkan bay is a dream! We fully appreciated the information booklet and used the recommended restaurants most evenings, all of which were fabulous! The local market was a boon for our youngsters to buy trainers and “branded” goods and very interesting to wander round. We felt guilty not knowing much Turkish but the locals could not have been friendlier or more welcoming, putting us to shame with their excellent English. The villa management rep was excellent too, making sure we had everything we needed and answering all our questions. Just a wonderful place to spend a holiday!

  • We stayed at the Sunrise at the Nur Apartments in Kalkan for 10 days. The apartments are beautifully kept, clean & tidy with a wonderful location. The swimming pool was a really good size, with plenty of sun loungers. The managing agent, Fiona, was really helpful, particularly at this difficult time with Covid. We shall certainly be returning.

  • We stayed at Mar Azul- Sole Apartment for 15 days. It was fabulous! The property is very clean and well-furnished. There was everything we needed as a family (kitchen utensils, sheets, towels, etc)- on one occasion, we needed Turkish tea pots (as I am Turkish), and, Sahra kindly provided that without me having to request! The location was great as well- the public beach, marina and great restaurants are just 10 min walk from the apartment. Lastly, the whole booking process was prompt, smooth and responsive. We cannot thank you enough!

  • Thank you for your patience and understanding this year and for helping to arrange a well earned holiday in your fantastic Nur Aprtments - Daybreak.
It was as hoped, fantastic, spotlessly clean and modern apartment, great location and outstanding pool area.
The Daybreak was fantastic with the double balcony so guaranteed sun/shade as required.
Again we cannot thank you enough for all your help this year and wish you the best for the future.

We will definitely be back, thanks.

  • Hi Fiona,

I just want to thank you so much for arranging such a fabulous holiday for us.

We stayed in the Sunrise apartment at the Nur apartment complex. The apartment was spacious, modern and clean with a good sized balcony to spend the morning eating breakfast or the evening having our first drinks before heading out into the town. The apartment is perfectly situated, just a short (downhill) stroll into the town.

As we stayed for 10 days we received a mid-way clean, where the cleaner was so accommodating and left it looking spotlessly clean.

Thank you so much for everything and we hope to rebook with you next year!

  • Thank you for all your help in arranging our wonderful holiday in Kalkan. We had to change dates, because of the pandemic, but all the changes were handled smoothly, for which we are grateful. Transfers from Dalaman to the villa were arranged with Kalkan Sun Travel - also excellent. Our family party of 9 stayed at Villa Lumineux on the Komurluk side of Kalkan. This was a great choice as we are sun worshippers, and facing west enabled us to enjoy every last ray of the sun as it finally disappeared behind the hills over the bay. Villa Lumineux lived up to our expectations: a beautiful, light, airy, spacious villa with loads of room for all the family; a fabulous infinity pool; uninterrupted views over the bay - and very close to the Zest Beach Club which we also loved. Arif, the owner, was very welcoming, and supplied us with a generous 'welcome pack'.

We would happily book with Kalkan Secrets again - and book the same villa if we were travelling with a large party. I would mention that the villa pool would not be suitable for young children as it is quite deep - but of course this was perfect for us!

Thank you, Fiona, for all your help.

  • Hi Fiona Thank you for organising our stay at Villa Falcon and for providing such comprehensive information and guidance throughout. The villa was perfectly located for the old town and harbour, although one of our party has visual issues, which were exacerbated by the steep slopes etc where the villa is situated. The way that the accommodation is structured meant that we were unaware of other holiday-makers. The owner was on hand for any queries and had left us 'basics', which were appreciated as our arrival was very late. The generous pool looked great was kept extremely clean, although we didn't use it... we had such a good week on our first trip to Kalkan and certainly Fiona was as informative as she could possibly have been. We hired a car but next time will take a taxi transfer as we didn't use the car and short-term car hire is very easy to arrange in the town.

  • I echo the comments made about Villa Bora. Location was ideal for us as we did not want to have to get taxi's back and forth. It is a steep 10 min climb from the harbour, and probably not for those with mobility issues. Only ever saw 2 other people in the pool, and unlike many others, was a really good size. Plenty of space around it and no fighting over sun-loungers.
The views from the apartment, especially the bedroom, was fantastic and I will remember the sunsets for a long time.

We certainly don't want to wait another 8 years to come back. In fact we said that we would love to come back with our children and grand children. Better start saving!!
Once again many thanks for letting us stay in your lovely apartment.

  • We have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the Nur Apartments in Kalkan (Sunset).
Everything from start to finish was very smooth and simple. Easy booking system, first class airport transfers and very helpful advice from Fiona Ellis the director of Kalkan Secrets.
The apartment itself was spotlessly clean with good sized rooms and balcony.
The pool was a God send and we had it to ourselves a lot of the time.
The location was great, literally round the corner from the super market, patisserie and fruit and veg shop and a very short walk into the old town.
We love Kalkan. Been here 3 times now.
The people are so friendly, the food is amazing and the boat trips are an absolute must as is the local Hammam!

  • I did a lot of research before even coming across Kalkan Secrets, we’d never been to Turkey before, I knew I needed to be away from the maddening crowd, and that’s how I came across Kalkan. Fiona from KS was great from beginning to end, she was helpful, sympathetic and a great source of information. We stayed at the Blueberry Apts #3, and it by far exceeded our expectations, it was clean, done to a very high standard, the views were amazing. I highly recommend booking with Fiona and we will do so again in the future - this place seems to have broken a rule of ours which is that we never go back to the same place twice but Kalkan is another place.

  • Olivium Apartment

Recently spent 10 days in Kalkan and must say we had a very enjoyable stay at Olivium Apartment. Louise was most helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay too - we needed a couple of little fixes doing which were dealt with swiftly without any inconvenience to us. The duplex apartment is located very close to the centre of Old Town and has a beautiful view from the roof terrace. We could stroll to the Moonlight Bar in about 5 minutes. The pool was lovely and big and we rarely saw anyone else. The kitchen was very well equipped - it was possible to cook a substantial meal without having to worry about having the right size pan or sharp enough knives! The Carrefor supermarket was 200m away and it was possible to buy ice cream and get back home before it had melted. The youngsters in our group of five loved the fact that they could arrive back home after a night out without having to worry about getting taxis. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. Not too hard and not too soft. I would recommend staying here especially if you are on a tight budget. It is very spacious and well laid out. Slight word of warning though, there are a lot of stairs up from the road to the apartment.; however you can approach from Gul Suk which eliminates most of these.

  • What a fantastic villa and what a fantastic location. We have just returned from two weeks in this great location, in total our party was 7. As it has been mentioned before the villa is approximately 90 minute drive from Dalaman airport, however the transfer was fantastic.
Once at the villa we were welcomed by Ahmet who showed us round, and then left us to our own devices. All the rooms are en-suite which is fantastic and is well spread out over three floors. The living space is well used and allows a group the size of ours your own space if needed. The views are stunning looking out towards the sea in the distance and mountains beyond that. The pool and sun lounge area has been extended since the photos on the site, so we have added come new ones. Again this space is superb, allowing for plenty of room for all.
We did not hire a car for the time we were there, so all trips were by taxi, which was not a bad thing. We managed to use a regular taxi, and with modern tech WhatsApp was the best way to communicate to all. As it mentions it is a twenty minute car journey from the villa to Kalkan.
Most of the food shops are at the top end of the town, we first went to Carrefour to buy the shopping, however found out quickly that this is a waste of time. Unlike the UK, the independent shops are the place to go. There are some superb greengrocers, bakeries and butchers all were better value than the supermarkets. The only supermarket we did use was the Akan one. The main reason is the butcher inside was superb. The variety of meat and value was incredible. Having looked on line for something similar in the UK we would have had to pay near 3 to 4 times the amount.
If you enjoy a good barter then the market on the Thursday is good fun, and pretty much has everything for you to dress yourself from head to foot in labels. However if you are a foody, then out the back are some stalls selling local produce including olive oil, olives, cheese etc. all very local.
If you do fancy a walk out of the villa, a sturdy pair of trainers is needed, for a shorter walk go to the main road and head up the hill, it is about a 30 minute walk to the small local store, there is also a great little restaurant called “The Café Restaurant”, service is superb and great value for money. You would be looking at double if not more for the same menu down in Kalkan.
For the guys if you fancy a Turkish barber experience I can recommend Sweeney Todd’s on the main street. So much so that I went twice. For a double shave, haircut, massage was all but £10. From there you can head down through the winding streets of Kalkan old town and out to the harbour and sit relax and have a local Efes or a cocktail.
Overall a great place to go and chill out, do nothing, eat great food and enjoy the scenery.

  • Villa Alexander

We are so happy that Richard & Jane have decided to reopen Villa Alexander for rentals! We first came in 2013 and had the most amazing week and were so happy that our visit in 2019 was as good if not better! The villa had just been re decorated so the Villa felt almost brand new. Exceptionally clean, hand over and cleaning service was brilliant. Cant wait to book again for this year!

  • Thank you for a fabulous 2 week stay in the sunrise Apt in July 2019, the whole process from booking to transfers was very easy, any queries were answered very promptly by Fiona. The apartment was spotless and very well positioned for restaurants and supermarket. We particularly enjoyed and made use of the big balcony and pool, which we used after a long day in the hot sun. Would not hesitate to book this apartment again.

    Kind Regards Alan / Vicki

  • Villa Mercan

Villa Mercan is in a really good location with absolutely stunning views. It is a short walk into the town, however there are quite a few steps involved in leaving and returning to the villa as Kalkan is set on the side of a mountain. The villa is furnished to a very high standard with lots of little comforts that really make you feel at home. The infinity pool was our favourite spot to watch the boats come in and out of the harbour while keeping cool.

The pool and seating area are amazing and are cleaned every day. There are also two more comfortable seating areas one which is located on the roof offering more outstanding views of the sea and harbour. We really appreciated the Welcome pack and the fresh bread brought every day. Helen and Alan were fabulous as well as their local representative, who could not have been more accommodating and helpful.

Helen arranged the airport transfers, as we came out of the airport a gentleman was waiting with a board with our name on, he loaded our cases in and gave us all a welcome bottle of cold water. The return was just as easy, taxi arrived 20 minutes early, fantastic.

We enjoyed every minute of our holiday and Kalkan has a certain charm about it that we have never experienced before. We will definitely be returning to Villa Mercan as we loved it so much.

    Thanks John and Kerri.

  • Myself and 10 female friends have just spent a fabulous week at Villa Falcon Exclusive celebrating three 60th birthdays! The villa is superb, very spacious, comfortable beds and wonderful infinity pool with views to die for!! Although the villa is high up above the centre of Kalkan, don't let that put you off as the taxis are inexpensive (20 TL) and most can seat 6 passengers so we only needed 2! The owner Mustafa was very helpful and organised a private boat trip for our party which included a very tasty lunch!! Thank you Kalkan Secrets we have had the best time!!

  • Apartment Cennet

Well what can we say? Our visit was hot, hot, hot so we didn’t venture far from the lovely apartment. This has all you need for a2 week stay though we would love to be there for longer next time. There are even spices so you can make your own Turkish meatballs. A wonderful experience. We are a couple but the apartment would equally suit a young family with the gorgeous pool area and private patio being nice and secure. Well recommended.

  • Apartment Cennet

We stayed at Cennet apartment for 9 days in May. We were bowled over by the cleanliness of the property and how comfortable it was. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time which was a luxury. Sue was very helpful and straightforward to deal with. Everything went like clockwork. This was our first time in Kalkan but it won’t be the last. We loved walking to the Courtyard for a pre-dinner drink and then along the Old Street to dine so we were never far away. Thanks to Sam and the team for keeping everything spic and span. We will be back.

  • Apartment Sahane

I stayed here with a friend for 10 days in October. This lovely apartment was a great place to call home for our stay, with three good size bedrooms (2 doubles and a twin). The master bedroom was really delightful with a wrap around balcony which had a spectacular panorama of Kalkan - a great place for a sundowner! The balcony on the entry floor also afforded a fabulous view of Kalkan and the harbour, and a particularly lovely spot for breakfast. We are regular visitors to Kalkan and our preference is always to stay in the Old Town. This was a very fast and easy walk down the hill to all of our favourite places and an ever so slightly longer walk back up - but a great way to burn off some calories, which was no bad thing!

The apartment is also very conveniently located near Carrefour which made life very easy indeed and there was also a great team looking after the place with a midweek cleaning included. We have added this place to our list of favourites and would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. The apartment is just fabulous, you've thought of everything. My most relaxing break in years. Looking forward to coming back xxx

  • We had a lovely holiday staying at the Pembe apartment in the Customs House. Although small, it was clean and compact and SO VERY convenient for the Old Town, harbour, beach, restaurants etc! The little balcony, overlooking the harbour provided a wonderful place to sit, eat, and relax watch the comings and goings of boats and visitors alike.

  • Apartment Sahane

Great location in Kalkan, the view from the penthouse bedroom is truly amazing. We loved waking up to that every morning. The beach is close by as are the many excellent restaurants and shops. The owners were very helpful and friendly, I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family. I don't think this will be my last visit to Sahane!

  • Villa Destiny

Villa Destiny is a beautiful place to stay with panoramic views and plenty of space and everything you need. It's lovely and quiet but yet not too far away from the town.

We have stayed in quite a few Villas but this was the best. The pool was huge and the cleanest we've had, There are lots of different outside areas to sit , all with comfy seating and shade if needed.

Everyone in Kalkan goes out of their way to help including delivering a full English breakfast to your door (Café Vita) or last minute shopping (Deniz).

There are so many amazing restaurants in Kalkan you're spoilt for choice. Kalkan Beach Club is great - we went twice - and you have to do a boat trip.

Julie is the most helpful person I have booked a Villa with. She responds quickly and provides you with plenty of information to make sure everything goes smoothly and she really cares that you have a good holiday. We would definitely stay at Villa Destiny again :)

  • I cannot recommend Dusk at Nur Apartments highly enough. The information we received prior to the holiday was excellent and very helpful. The apartment itself was spotless and so well equipped. It was also very helpful that beach towels were supplied as it gave extra luggage room.
The pool is large and maintained to a high standard-most of the time we had it to ourselves which was lovely.
Location of the apartments is very good- a short stroll to the old town- a slightly longer walk back though!
Transfers arranged by Kalkan Secrets were excellent and hassle-free.
All in all a lovely relaxing holiday.
Many thanks to Fiona and Martyn for all their assistance.

  • Hi Fiona,
We returned yesterday from a 2 week stay at Falcon Lodge. The Villa was wonderful and all we could have wanted. It is so easy to get a taxi up and down the hill so the slightly higher location did not impact at all, in fact the views were even better.
The outside space was superb and great for all wanting sun or shade.
The staff that looked after us were so very helpful.
If I had one tiny thing to mention it would be the toaster. It was a small 2 slice toaster which had a queue forming when all of us were wanting toast!!
I would also like to add that Kalkan Secrets left no stone unturned and the service was wonderful. We would certainly use and recommend you. Many thanks , Maria

  • Our stay at the Daybreak Apartment was first class - everything we could have hoped for. The apartment was actually larger than we anticipated, spotlessly clean, with two large balconies. Although the pool was advertised as shared, most of the time we used it we were on our own.

The location is perfect, just a few metres from the main road out of town and just a leisurely 5 minute stroll to the Old Town. Maintenance /Cleaning was excellent and when we asked for a slightly later check out, this was readily agreed.
We would certainly recommend the apartments and intend to be back ourselves. Thanks to all who made our stay so memorable.

  • Hi Fiona, I just wanted to say we’ve had the most fantastic time on holiday and the custom house was much more than anticipated. Loved everything about it. Thank you and we know now why people return to Sonsuz.

  • Just returned from a week in Pembe apartment, the Customs House. The accommodation and location were just as we hoped. The cleanliness of apartment, linen, towels etc was as I would expect., the location perfect for us, near to the beach, shops, old town restaurants but on the periphery, therefore quiet. The balcony is great for watching the comings and goings in the harbour.

Transfers arranged through Fiona were spot on, drivers polite, helpful and friendly.
Would highly recommend the apartment and Kalkan Secrets.

  • I would like to start by saying how impressed we have been with Kalkan Secrets and with everything you organised for us. Right from the start when I first contacted you you could not have been more helpful and efficient, and your recommendation of Villa Kalkan for us was just perfect. It is in such a good location, and you were absolutely right that we would very likely have the pool to ourselves most of the time. You told us that the villa is a little dated and that didn't put us off and was anyway far out-weighed by its benefits.

We found the information you left in the villa really helpful, and enjoyed the restaurants you recommended. We also had a lovely day on the Falcon - again a very good recommendation. We were also very impressed with Volume Travel and the airport transfers you organised for us.

From the moment we landed in Dalaman until the moment we returned home we felt that with Kalkan Secrets we were in very good hands. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you and hope to be back in Kalkan ourselves before too long.

    Thank you for everything.

  • We arrived at the amazing Villa Destiny late in the evening and where instantly wowed by the spacious, luxurious and comfortable feel about the place. The pool is much larger than the photographs suggest and a perfect way to cool down. The jacuzzi section was especially popular with me! Lovely place to chill. The kitchen/living area is open plan and has just about everything you will need for your holiday.

We didn’t feel the need to use the PlayStation but the TV did get some use by younger members of the family (Love Island/World Cup) yes all English Channels are available.

Bedrooms are large and well equipped with comfortable beds, dressing area and large wardrobes. The view from the master bedroom across the hillside and the Bay is amazing - especially at night with all the lights of Kalkan twinkling away.

I feel this Villa is all about outdoor living though, with loads of space around the pool/dining area. The table tennis area around the back did get a lot of use especially whilst hungry mouths where waiting for the BBQ to be ready and the covered area by the pool was perfect for a break from the sun. Plenty of space for everyone.

All in all we had a superb holiday at Villa Destiny and would not hesitate to recommend this place to others.

  • From the moment I contacted Fiona, everything was simple and efficient. Plenty of information prior to the holiday, transfers arranged, no problems at all.
The apartment itself is wonderful, spacious enough for the 2 of us. Quaint and traditional, a few minor maintenance issues, but nothing that caused any concern. The apartment is clean, and provides everything you need including a welcome package of tea, coffee etc on arrival which was most welcome as we arrived late at night.
I have been coming to Kalkan for over 10 years and this is my favourite apartment for location and character. Can't wait to go back!!

  • Hi Fiona, sorry it has taken me a while to find time to complete a review of our accommodation during our recent August holiday in Kalkan - Apartment Sue and Kalkan Breeze.
We had a fantastic two weeks again in both apartments and they both have their major selling points. Both were well-appointed and in good decorative order.
Apartment Sue was extremely well-positioned in the heart of the Old Town which was brilliant for access to all the restaurants, shops and harbour. It was spacious and had a lovely balcony. Perhaps the only negative would be the pool area which did feel a little boxed-in with its high surrounding wall but this didn't bother us as we didn't need to be sunbathing the entire day.
Kalkan Breeze was of course larger and had those fantastic views and the pool area was lovely. As we hadn't stayed so far around the bay before, we had to organise our day better, particularly if we needed to do any shopping at Carrefour. Once we'd got into a bit of a routine, we used the boat taxi from Palm Beach Club to get across to the harbour and then got a taxi back via the supermarket if we needed any supplies. Having said that, the walk to the harbour and the bottom of town was easy and picturesque but I wouldn't attempt it in the dark as the path was quite rocky in places.
We'd stay in either apartment again and would highly recommend them both.

  • Our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a wonderful time at Sun Elite 2 in kate August 2018.

Pre-trip there were swift responses to enquiries and an airport transfer was organised by the owner.

The apartment is spacious and well maintained with great outdoor spaces to eat and relax. You can see the large pool from the terrace and the views from the bedroom balconies are beautiful. The pool and communal areas were kept spotless.

The walk up the hill from the old town was about 10 minutes and much needed after the meals we ate. Taxis are everywhere if you don't feel like the walk.

I would highly recommend this property.

  • My family and I stayed in the Daybreak apartment from the 27th of July for 2 weeks. The apartments are in a great location close to the old town, supermarkets, bars, and restaurants. The apartment is large and airy with all mod cons. From the balcony, we had great views of the town and bay. The pool is large and even though it was peak season it was very quiet and relaxing. The apartment and pool area were well looked after by the staff and they were always on hand if we needed them. We are looking forward to returning to the Nur apartments next year.

  • We stayed in Falcon
Lodge for a week inAugust. We were a group of 3 families and children and found the house very comfortable, the 4 ensuite doubles were spacious and modern. As was the kitchen and main living area.
The swimming pool was a delight to return to after a day out. There was plenty of loungers and chairs for us all to relax in.
We had a couple of issues with the house eg DVD player not working, toilet not flushing and the owner was responsive to our comments to ensure the issues were dealt with.
All in all we had a lovely stay, I would recommend this villa and would love to return!

Lovely villas around a pool area we had all to ourselves even though it served several villas. Best apartment we have stayed in - close to town - fab pool - helpful owners 5/5
We loved this apartment. - We are a family of 4 with older teenagers. It was close to town - great facilities and a fab pool with steps instead of a ladder - and a great wraparound balcony with a fantastic view. Kitty and Kitty's dad (as well as Jane) were very helpful during our stay and we had a marvellous time. - Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone - It has it all !!

  • Just returned from 2 weeks holiday at Sonsuz Apartment in the Customs House and what a gorgeous place to stay. It’s perfect if you want to be right in the old town right by all the bars and restaurants although you wouldn’t know it as it’s so quiet.. A couple of minutes walk from the local beach and the harbour where you can catch the water taxis that take you to the beach parks. The house itself is traditional and quaint, although could do with a little bit updating and a lick of paint in places but don’t let that put you off as it’s very clean, light and airy. There’s a small patio area outside the front perfect for morning coffee and pre dinner drinks where you get a lovely view of the harbour. Kalkan Secrets also organised our airport transfer which I would highly recommend, very professional. Would we stay there again? Yes definitely it’s perfect if you want to be in the heart of everything we loved it

Would recommend the Minerva to anyone who is looking to stay in Kalkan

What can I say – Thank you so much for making our holiday absolutely perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your Villa. We thought the Villa was amazing, exquisitely furnished and equipped in excellent taste – we can’t recommend it highly enough!!

The gorgeous pool, by which we enjoyed a “few” glasses of vino and cool beers means the villa really is beautiful inside and out – you clearly have put a lot of effort in! How can we stay away? The answer is we can’t, we have booked again for the same time next year.

We found Kalkan itself wonderful with the views spectacular, the people the best, with numerous restaurants to choose from being both un-spoilt and with lots of charm – all providing for a fine dining experience.

Thank you once again for sorting the transfers to and from the Airport and giving us a fabulous holiday – Can’t wait for next year!

The apartment had everything you would need with a great pool, which I had to myself on several occasions. Situated close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants but in a quiet street parallel to the main road what more could you ask for. Would certainly stay at this complex again.

  • From the first day I contacted Kalkan Secrets about staying at their apartments (Sunrise), I was very impressed by the level of communication and attention to detail displayed by Fiona. My wife and I spent a terrific 14 nights in May-June 2018. From the arranged transfer from Dalaman onwards, this was a dream experience. The apartment was very well appointed with plentiful kitchen equipment including the all important bottle opener. The apartment was clean and spacious and kept in this condition by the excellent Emine(?) who supplemented our own efforts by supplying replacement sheets and towels.
I was in two minds about writing this review as I would prefer to keep this "secret" to ourselves but , seriously , you will struggle to find a better apartment in Kalkan. Situated only 5 minutes from the Old Town in easy walking distance of numerous restaurants I cannot wait to visit again in 2019.
    Thank you again Kalkan Secrets.

  • We have just returned from a two week stay in the Nur Apartments (Dusk). It had everything we required and more. The apartment was spacious and spotless and it slept four adults comfortably. The bed linen was changed halfway through the holiday as well as the apartment being immaculately cleaned. The pool/beach towels were an added bonus, and these too were changed midway through the holiday. The pool is a great size, and as we were out of season it was very quiet and relaxing. The apartment location is perfect for the old town. Close enough for convenience but far enough away to be quiet. It is an uphill walk back, but everywhere is Kalkan is uphill one way or another! The information supplied by Fiona and Martyn prior to arrival was detailed and informative and the additional information in the apartment was also great. We arranged transfers via Kalkan Secrets. They were punctual, efficient, polite and comfortable. It definitely took the stress out of travelling to and from Dalaman. In summary, a great location, well managed, perfectly positioned, clean and comfortable. I can definitely recommend Nur Apartments and although it was our first visit, it will not be our last.

The villa was absolutely amazing, clean, well equipped, well maintained and very comfortable , it took every one of our expectations , and blew them out of the water (in a good way) ALL of the members of our party were stunned by the villa, so much so I think you may be receiving an enquiry from my sons in-laws for a large party next May and I cant thank you enough for supplying a magnificent villa for what was supposed to be a once in a lifetime family holiday, but after the experience we had, we are already planning another one .

  • Apartment Sahane

I've now stayed in all three of the Dere Apartments & non of them disappoint. However Sahane the duplex apartment is the larger of the three and sleeps six easily. The amazing master bedroom has its own balcony with uninterrupted views of Kalkan bay. It is decorated to a high standard with a homely feel. Samet, who hands up maintenance & management team, is available 24/7. The pool area is spotless with enough sun beds for all three apartments, however with a short stroll to the harbour you can spend your day at the beach or one of the beach clubs dotted around Kalkan bay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    'Home from home- 5/5'
We are currently staying in this apartment, it has everything you could possibly require,
    Hair dryer included,
This is obviously a well thought out apartment which is only a 5minute walk to town, local shops including supermarket are 2 minute walk, the pool is great and an ideal size with 4 allocated sun beds with table and catches the sun from sunrise til about 4.30 along with the terrace,
A very clean and modern apartment with BBQ for people who want to be totally self catering,
    A definite recommendation from us.

  • Apartment Minerva

The way the apartment is kitted out, you can tell this used to be a home - rather than someone putting in the minimum you can get away with for a holiday let. With useful extras like; games, dvds, books, UK plug adaptors, bluetooth speaker, beach towels, water cooler and plenty of equipment in the kitchen. Everything worked as it should.

There are 2 pools for 6 apartments and each apartment has it's own allocated sun loungers and umbrella. When we did use the pool, we generally had it to ourselves.

Location is ideal. It's one block away from the main road (so a quiet location) and then there are all the amenities that you want; Turkish bath, banks and supermarkets etc. But most importantly; cafes and restaurants that line the road down through the old town to the sea front. Overall rating: 5/5

  • Falcon Villas: Villa Falcon

This was our sixth visit to Kalkan and as always we fell in love with this pretty coastal town all over again. Undoubtably Villa Falcon boasts a fantastic location with a 5 minute walk down to the restaurants and harbour and is literally just round the corner from a well-stocked supermarket, Carrefour if you want to self-cater.
Mustafa and his family who manage the villas, gardens and pools live next door and are very warm and friendly. They keep everything clean and tidy and are always on hand should you have any questions. We even booked our boat trip with Mustafa on Falcon which was impressively the biggest cruiser in the harbour, great value for money and definitely a must for a day out, leaving at 10am and returning spot on time to the harbour for the 5pm call to prayer from the harbour mosque.
Villa Falcon was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. There are 3 bathrooms (and a downstairs cloakroom) which is great for avoiding queues for the shower for large families or groups. The three bedrooms have plenty of storage space for you when you arrive and unpack and the air-conditioning throughout is a welcome relief after sunbathing.
The pool is well-maintained and a good size with plenty of sunbeds around with even a toilet and shower and a bar for guests' use.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are looking to book again either later this year and/or next year too!

We stayed here for two weeks and we found everything perfect, from booking with Kitty st staying in a really great apartment. Everything is available and you do feel you're staying in a home and not a holiday apartment. The situation is perfect not too far to walk into the old town. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the views and atmosphere of Kalkan. Kitty, the host, really does care and will do everything to make your stay perfect. Couldn't recommend more highly.

  • Grania's House, July 14-19 2017: It was a fabulous trip as always, the villa was super and that view it's just spectacular! We can't wait to return in September, it's definitely our second home! It was our 5th time in kalkan and 4th time at your villa, I think that says it all!

    Wow...

I have just returned from the most wonderful 10 days holiday I have ever had. Villa Mercan was everything and more than what we anticipated to it be, with stunning sea views from every room which was particularly appealing as we woke each morning after some rather late nights “partaking” of the local cuisine! The villa is well equipped and excellently located just a few minutes’ walk along the sea front to the Old Town and harbour. It is very private and we were able to catch up on our sleep and top up on the tan lazing by the pool, with just an occasional dip to cool down! There is also a Jacuzzi on the amazing roof terrace which we also used both in the day time and the evening whilst viewing the lights of Kalkan. Whilst Palm Beach Club is less than 200 yards away, we preferred Yali and Indigo Beach Clubs (at the end of the bay) which are only the equivalent of about £3 in a taxi which are plentiful. An “early morning” taxi back from town was only £2.50 for all of us! I would definitely recommend Villa Mercan for the holiday of a life time!

    10 Days in Paradise!

I arrived at this villa late on a Monday night, and due to this, one would assume, I’d hit the hay in my lovely room ready for Tuesday...This assumption would be wrong as instead I spent the evening grabbing a few drinks out in town and then a midnight dip in the astonishing infinity pool – my first time in one – which was beautifully lit and over looked the colourful city of Kalkan. What a way to start a holiday! This residence is one that continues to amaze you morning-to-night and beginning-to-end. You wake up with a stunning sea-view and not even a slight disturbance as this property on the side the mountain just across from the town. With a fully fitted kitchen it's easy to rustle the bacon and eggs you bought from the local shops and enjoy this in the lounge whilst watching a wide-range of English programmes. If you're committed to sitting pool-side all day then clearly this can be done. However, if you're more of an explorer then it’s a simple 15 minute walk down the road - or a 2 minute taxi trip from one of the numbers the villa provides you! The villa-owners are very popular and well liked so the drivers certainly know the villa just by the name! I should also mention the owners provide you with an impressive welcome pack, filled with numbers, advice and useful information to help you get the best experience whilst abroad. In the evenings you can have you food or drinks on the 4th floor's terrace and dip in the Jacuzzi if you fancy! Honestly, it’s really quite a surreal feeling doing so, with such an amazing view right in front of your eyes. The photos shown from previous to the holiday don’t do it justice! Staying in Villa Mercan honestly felt like I was a celebrity for a week and every second was incredible! Whether it's a trip with the family or just a few mates, I can promise it's a trip you will be longing to do again and again and again! Thank you so much to Villa Mercan and the owners, you gave me a trip of a lifetime. I would, and have, recommended (and bragged) about this villa to all of my family and friends and I can bet they also would not be disappointed.

Fabulous villa , fabulous views , fabulous place

We had a fantastic week , villa had everything we needed and more , difficult to tear ourselves away to enjoy the area. Views to die for , close enough to town but taxis easy to arrange . Lots of steps but worth it . Every bedroom as a great view so no arguing about who gets what bedroom, lovely sun deck, seating area and jacuzzi at the top , great for late night drinking and relaxing . Can't recommend highly enough , just go . Kalkan is also a really lovely place . So many places to eat and drink and easy to get around with private taxis and private boats to snorkel . We will hopefully return . Thank you for sharing your home .

We had a fabulous holiday the villa was outstanding hard to pick fault maybe mention the many steps access to the villa but it didn't really bother us its just what it is. The villa had every superb luxury you could imagine I highly recommend this villa to other holiday makers. Kalkan was lovely lots of restaurants and great food perhaps a little quiet but this was the month of May so to be expected There is no doubt it is a beautiful place and the people are wonderful. We had reservation about travelling to Turkey but there really was no need to have worried, the whole experience contributed to one of the best holidays I have ever had we certainly want to return.

We came to Kalkan last year and didn't think we could better our experience but oh my goodness, how wrong could we be. Villa Mercan was beautiful and in a beautiful location. It offered everything that we could possibly want from a holiday home. The infinity pool was stunning and the seating area at the top of the building was brilliant end for a night out. All the rooms had floor to ceiling windows with stunning views and en suite facilities. I am sure we will make a return visit.

  • Villa Mercan

Villa Mercan in Kalkan is as fabulous as it looks on the pictures. Loved using the roof top Jacuzzi in the morning and last thing at night sipping some fizz. The beds are comfy and the walk-in showers are spacious and unlike some villas the water pressure is good and the temperature great if you need a hot shower. The location is great as well. There are a few steps to negotiate in the villa as it is on four levels, however this is a great way to burn off those extra calories accumulated from the amazing restaurants in Kalkan. The Palm Beach club is just at the bottom of the steps to access the villa from the bottom road and you can swim in the sea here, get a boat taxi or eat in their restaurant. Also from here you can walk into town and it takes about 15 minutes. As this is such a great location there are a few more villas surrounding the plot, but this is typical in Kormuluk and is to be expected because it has the best views in Kalkan. I can highly recommend this villa and Helen (the owner) who looked after the booking and arranged our pick ups from the airport. She is very helpful and she has an on site agent Ibo to take care of any issues. Than you Helen and Alan for our perfect 10 days

This is a lovely, very spacious apartment and you can tell immediately it has been a much loved home. It has loads of character and is well equipped-everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. The garden area is beautiful and the open outlook to the hills and sea is so relaxing. We had the pool to ourselves for most of our stay and loved lazing around it or on the spacious wrap around balcony. Minutes from the town and supermarket, bakers and butcher, it really is a perfect location. Kitty had a welcome pack waiting for our late arrival-including some Efes to toast our our first night from the balcony. Perfect.

  • Mar Azul Apartment

My friends and I loved this stunning apartment. It is a great location within a very easy walking distance to the harbour and restaurants, weekly markets and stores. The private pool is wonderful to laze around all day, if that's your thing. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms if there are a few people, but at the same time it wouldn't feel too big if it was just for a couple. I love the fact that they have thought through the fact that sometimes you might just want to cook at 'home' as there are plenty of cooking utensils if you enjoy cooking. The owners clearly care about the apartment and the experience you are going to have and I will definitely be booking to go back again and again.

Perfect place - just right for a stroll to the beach and the lovely bars, restaurants and shops nearby, or stay in for a barbie by the pool. Loads to do in and around Kalkan too, so we weren't bored. We'll be back for sure!

I was lucky enough to stay in this beautiful apartment end of June beginning of July. The minute you walk in you realize this is a home not just a holiday let. I have rented many places over the years and this has to be one of the best ever. It is so well equipped with everything you could wish for. The views from the very large terrace are spectacular and an evening drink looking at the lights and the view, make you feel so relaxed and happy. The apartment is so close to town it is very easy to walk into as well as being in easy distance to supermarkets. An early morning swim in the lovely pool was a great way to start the day. I look forward to returning in the future.

Just back from a fabulous stay at Falcon Lodge. What a lovely holiday! We were new to Kalkan but will definitely be back and the villa was a perfect introduction - fab views, loads of space for all three families and everything we needed. We loved the fact that there are so many different spaces around the villa where you can please your self - sunbathe, swim, sit in the shade and read, whatever! So relaxing.

Kalkan itself is an amazing place. So many restaurants to choose from - we will have to come back just to get around to the ones we missed this time! And as for the boat rip - bliss! Thanks for a superb holiday and we will defo be back :)

  • Horizon Apartments: Sunrise

A repeat visit to Kalkan and our group had 3 of the Nur Apartments. We specifically loved Sunrise - it's spacious, well equipped and immaculately clean! It's well positioned and has a sunny aspect pool. Between our group we have stayed at many Kalkan hotels/villas/apartments but I would return here due to the location and value for money.

Would recommend Coriander and Mussaka for food, Cafe Leon, Lime bar and Macadi for drinks, Blue Marlin for fish, Yldiz 3 for boat trip and Volume travel.

Sunrise is in an excellent location for the Thursday market, bakeries, supermarkets, but a quiet location. Loved it! Thank you Fiona and Martyn!

  • Villa Mercan

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in superb accommodation that met all of our needs and more. With eight of us in our party and there being 4 double/twin en-suite rooms with spectacular front facing sea views and in some cases side balconies as well, everyone had their own space with views to die for. The beds were extremely comfortable, there was more than enough storage space and the en-suites provided you with a bath/shower & in some cases, both! The open plan kitchen/dining room & lounge was more than spacious and every facility imaginable was catered for including a separate downstairs cloakroom/laundry room, SKY TV and much more. Something to take note of, and which applies to most accommodation in Kalkan, is that there will be a large number of steps to and from your accommodation and to the sea front due to the fact that Kalkan is built into the hillside. This villa is no exception but the fact it is positioned nearer to the seafront than many makes it all worth while!

Anyone that has been to Kalkan will tell you it is beautiful and it is! If you are a discerning traveller who looks for something that bit more special & upmarket then this is definitely for you. With an abundance of restaurants some of which we ate in each evening, (there are over 300 so I'm told), exclusive shops as well as your bazaar type retail outlets and the magnificent harbour offering you day trips with swimming in the sea, sunbathing on deck and a wonderful Al fresco lunch with wine, (yes, we did partake), and which we will definitely do again on our next visit! It was wonderful! A must do!

    Until the next time....

Visited Villa Mercan for a short break in October and it wasn't a disappontment! The villa is built and furnished to a wonderful standard. The views from all the balconies are just stunning. Fantastic pool with superb views to the sea. Great equipped kitchen, TV with many UK channels, including all the sports channels.

Kalkan itself is a beautiful, picturesque coastal town. There are lots of restaurants and bars - but not rowdy - lovely quaint shops and a really interesting market on a Thursday.

All in all, I would definitely recommend both the area and Villa Mercan for a stay!

  • Horizon Apartments: Sunrise

We stayed at the Nur apartments in August 2015. We were a party of eleven total; four in Daybreak, four in Dusk and three of us in Sunrise.

The apartments were very clean and well-appointed and during our fortnight the apartments were re-cleaned and our bed linen and bath/hand towels were replaced. It is worth noting that beach towels are also provided (and changed) during your stay – saving considerably on your luggage allowance. As does the provision of a washing machine, if you were going for a week you could almost get away with hand baggage – toiletries being cheap enough to buy in the supermarket that’s two minutes’ walk away.

We probably split our eating in and eating out pretty evenly. There are lots of good, and good value restaurants in Kalkan but if you want to self-cater then the apartments are well enough equipped that you can without having to compromise; gas hob, microwave, electric oven and all the utensils you would commonly need. Even the cutlery matched…!

Although we were eleven, and there were other parties staying at Nur there was never any issue with either sunbeds or space around the pool which is larger than you would expect for ‘just’ apartments. The pool and its surround were always clean and tidy.

The apartments are about 10-15 minutes uphill from Kalkan old-town and harbour (downhill is much quicker!) and you would probably be best to avoid a midday return uphill, but in the evenings after dinner it was never an issue and we had a seven year old with us…

The arranged transfers to and from Dalaman airport were painless, and between eleven the cost was very reasonable given it is 75-90 minutes.

In summary, Kalkan is very pretty, the apartments are value for money, spotless, well-appointed, nicely located, well looked after and have a great pool. We would not hesitate to recommend them to couples, families or indeed larger groups such as ours.

We had a fantastic week in Kalkan staying at Falcon Villas (Villa Kalkan). Less than 5 minutes walk to the old village centre and harbour, yet in a very peaceful area, we had all that we needed. Plenty space and a well equipped kitchen. Views to die for from the lounge and master bedroom, and nice view from the second bedroom too. Well modernised en-suite shower rooms.

We ate out mostly but enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with fresh local produce from the nearby supermarket. Pool area well kept and of a decent size, and friendly owner and his family on site to assist if there's anthing you need. We will definitely be back!

I can honestly say the villa was amazing. The views from every room were superb. The infinity pool has a view that goes on for miles. The villa's kitchen is well equipped for everyday needs.Every bedroom has an on suite. The shower has good water pressure which is a bit of bonus as most placed I have stayed do not.Very clean throughout.Pool man arrives every morning so pool clean.Good quality bedding and towels in all rooms.Jacuzzi on the top floor was amazing. There is a large seating area next to it so you can chill. The town is a short walk away or a taxi is around £3.Kalcan is a more up market place but very affordable. The food is to die for.We ate in a different restaurant every night. The towns people I cannot fault. So friendly and welcoming.I had a fantastic 10 days there and would go back to the villa and Kalkan in a heartbeat. The owners of the villa are very lucky people.

  • Everything You Will Ever Need in an Apartment!
We arrived late evening, to be greeted by owner, Fiona, who ensured we knew where everything was and how it worked, particularly the oh-so-essential air-con! Our holiday coincided with a heatwave, so it was good to have air-con in both the bedroom and the living area, as well as a fan for anyone who finds it just a little too icy!
You have all you need in this apartment for a comfortable self-catering holiday, although admittedly we didn't use the little oven or microwave, just the toaster and kettle, plus the hob to cook breakfast eggs. Why visit Kalkan, with all its fabulous restaurants, and cook your own dinner? The large balcony is perfect for eating that breakfast/lunch, and the smaller rear balcony has a washing machine, which means that not only do you save on luggage weight, but you can bring home a case of clean clothes! For the ladies, I must mention that in the bedroom there is that rare delight - a dreesing table with excellent lighting for applying make-up. I wish other apartments and hotels would take note!
The pool... It is such a joy to have a huge pool which is shared between so few apartments. Often we had it all to ourselves. In early July it was a lovely temperature to get into to cool off, too. Also, you can have a lazy day by the pool and don't have to wander very far for a spot of lunch, as there are excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. When you do walk into town, it's downhill all the way, and will only take about 10 minutes. There are too many excellent restaurants to single any out, really. Suffice to say we didn't have a poor meal in any of the ones we tried. This was our first trip to Kalkan, and it certainly won't be the last as we have fallen in love with it. And Kalkan Secrets is so perfect for us that we've already booked for next July! Can't wait!

  • Best Holiday Ever! Painless journey to the apartment by taxi, arranged by Fiona and Martyn. When we arrived at the Sunrise apartment Fiona was there to greet us and she talked us through the apartment and where the local supermarket was etc.. which was a really nice touch. The apartment was well equipped and very clean and was perfect for us, with a wonderful view of the mountains. The pool and area was immaculate and was maintained everyday and just the right size. Kalkan itself to us was our little bit of paradise, lovely roof top restaurants, great weather and gorgeous places to see. The Lemon Tree is a must on a Sunday evening to see Martyn strut his stuff on his electric guitar with a really good local singer. Fiona and Martyn have got this just right we cannot wait to go back next year. See you in June 2015! Rob and Nicky

  • I've stayed in Kalkan a number of times in the last few years and was lucky to find this accommodation last October. The owners are lovely and very well informed about the area. The apartment was exactly what I needed. It is well looked after and fitted with all I needed for my weeks holiday. It was comfortable and roomy and had all mod cons. It is also very close to town which is ideal. So much so that I have booked a six week stay in an adjoining apartment (same owners) in 2014. Fully recommend it.

Pool great, towels great! Met some lovely people. Love Dusk because of the extra room and ground floor access.
Moving up to Sunset to extend our stay by 3 nights, we have enjoyed the relaxation so much!
    thank you, Kalkan Secrets.

  • We stayed in 'Sunrise', a first floor apartment within Kalkan Secrets block. The apartment was modern, spacious, clean, well equipped and the owners, Martyn and Fiona, have a hands on approach. They were very helpful and on hand to assist with anything. It proved an excellent base from which to explore and enjoy the many delights Kalkan has to offer. Located within easy walking distance to the myriad of superb restaurants, bars and shops without the need for taxis. There are so many things to see and do. I would, and indeed have already recommended the apartments to family and friends.

Superbly appointed apartment with everything you need. Perched slightly higher on the hill with two sun soaked balconies with views, both with good shade which you will need. The pool is large and hardly ever more than a couple of other people using it. We mostly went to one of the beaches in the day, but a dip in the pool at the end of the day was welcome. Martin and Fiona are very helpful, meeting us late on arrival and will help you with any requests.
Will be back I am sure, Kalkan was beautiful with lots of restaurants and near to ruins, mountains and beaches. This apartment was a perfect base.

The large balcony is perfect for eating that breakfast/lunch, and the smaller rear balcony has a washing machine, which means that not only do you save on luggage weight, but you can bring home a case of clean clothes!
For the ladies, I must mention that in the bedroom there is that rare delight - a dressing table with excellent lighting for applying make-up.
Can't wait!

  • Falcon Lodge Villa

Luxury Villa in a Beautiful location!"
Everything about this villa is absolutely stunning...beautiful rooms, bathrooms, living area, open plan kitchen, just everything! The view from the balconies and the infinity pool/patio area are some of the best you will ever see, overlooking the whole of the bay. Sara could not be more helpful and if we ever needed any assistance at the villa, Mustafa and his team were on hand straight away! We have fallen for Kalkan and its local charm already, and will certainly be rebooking for 2015! :) Ross

Comfortable, cosy and a lovely home from home. Literally everything had been thought of and was in the apartment for our use. From owners to housekeepers, everything was great. We enjoyed our stay in Kalkan so much.

I've stayed in Kalkan a number of times in the last few years and was lucky to find this accommodation in Oct 13. The owners are lovely and very well informed about the area. The apartment was exactly what I needed. It is well looked after and fitted with all I needed for my weeks holiday. It was comfortable and roomy and had all mod cons. It is also very close to town which is ideal. So much so that I booked a six-week stay in an adjoining apartment (same owners) in 2014. Fully recommend it.

We like to use apartments rather than villas as long as the pool is large and the usage is small - in other words we like peace and quiet and the feeling of exclusivity and this was certainly the case with Daybreak. Martyn and Fiona could not have been more welcoming but not intrusive. Their attention to detail and cleanliness in the apartment could not be faulted. The top terrace is amazing - dining with views out to sea one way and the lovely wooden canopy and views of town and the bay from the other - especially enjoyed our Pimms there before enjoying the vast choice of restaurants Kalkan offers. Our party had plenty of space - two couples in the bedrooms, and two teenage girls on very large and comfy sofa beds with lots of space for their clutter. It was truly relaxing - the teens enjoyed late returns from the club, we enjoyed early trips on the dolmus to Xanthos and Kas and 3 days car hire gave us sufficient time to enjoy other sites, trout restaurant atIslamlar for lovely peaceful lunch, Saklikent Gorge (glad we arrived at 10 as crowded on way back down). A very big thank you to Martyn and Fiona for a wonderful holiday ticking all the boxes for a family with teenagers - on our own we would come back out of season!

We were really impressed with all aspects of the holiday from booking to transfers to the accommodation. Fiona and Martin were great to deal with. They booked fantastic transfers for us and met us at the apartment even though we arrived after midnight. The apartment was really clean with excellent new bedding and towels.
We had loads of space and enjoyed the top floor location. Two balconies and large kitchen and lounge gave us plenty of space. We had a problem with an air con unit which was dealt with swiftly and Fiona cleaned our apartment and changed the beds to make up for it. The pool area was gorgeous..really clean and well looked after..and a good breeze to cool down and plenty of shade.
We loved Kalkan..great people..no hassle..excellent food at all the places we tried and plenty of real little shops for everything from groceries to jewellery.
The Market was excellent..went on all day..and we tried a boat trip on the Sea bella. Friendly family run..excellent food and nice people.
We'd love to go back and would definitely stay there again.

Staying as a family, we rented Daybreak (spacious, with two bedrooms, two ensuites and two balconies) and Sunset (very good size) for a week. The self catering apartments had all the equipment we needed (apart from the men would have liked access to a TV for updates on news/sports, but wifi was installed whilst we were there which helped). The location was perfect - close to supermarkets, restaurants (of which there were plenty), the harbour, Thursday market and bus terminal. The walk to the harbour/restaurants etc. is a short walk down and an incline back. Returning to the lovely pool at the end of each day was welcomed, many times our family had the pool to ourselves. The English owners Martyn and Fiona were knowledgable of the local area and we were entertained by Martin on the guitair twice in the Hotel bar. The owners arranged the transfers from/to Dalaman airport for us at an additional cost at a better rate than using a taxi from the airport. We flew from Stansted, please note even though our second leg was a domestic flight from Istanbul, we were bused to the international terminal for baggage collection. We have no hesitation in recommending Kalkan Secrets to our friends and family.

Wow, what a wonderful holiday. Everything was perfect. The villa was beautiful, just as the website suggested. Fabulous decor inside, spacious and very comfortable. Great pool and a view you could never tire of. Kalkan is beautiful, amazing bars, outstanding restaurants and all very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

  • We had an absolutely fantastic holiday in Kalkan, undoubtedly a unanimous 'best holiday ever' for both myself and Abby!
The studio was the perfect size for us, and the patio was excellent for our nights in having meals watching the sunset and general relaxing. The cleaner was also great, very speedy, and obviously enormously helpful.
Kalkan itself was brilliant; the beach was lovely, the shops were amazing, the food was incredible, and the people were so nice. All the beaches we went to (Kalkan, Kaputas and Patara) were stunning and well-kept. Our favourite day was perhaps our trip to Saklikent Gorge and Tlos; river rafting, amazing scenery, great tour guide, great lunch at the trout farm (where I won a free beer by staying 5mins in the freezing pool - painful, but awesome!), and thoroughly enjoyable.
Obviously this is quite a long email already, but yes - our entire holiday was incredible, and we had an amazing time! We would both love to stay again, and we will definitely refer Kalkan and your apartments to all our friends and family.
Finally, thank you for being so helpful and informative for us. Everything was made really easy and not stressful at all, which of course always improves holidays tenfold. Thanks again, we look forward to organising another holiday with you in the future!"

  • We had the most fantastic time! We loved everything about it. Your apartment was perfect for us, had everything we required & in a great location! Like so many other people we met, we will definitely be returning to Kalkan. I would not hesitate to recommend your lovely apartments to everyone I know!

  • The apartments were wonderful, really well-equipped and superbly situated... absolutely brill time and hopefully we will return!

  • We had a wonderful holiday and absolutely loved the apartment. I'd forgotten how lovely Kalkan was and my family all thought it was fantastic, my Mum said it was one of her best holidays so that was a success!
The apartment was great and perfect for us, the pool was fantastic too. Unfortunately we forgot to write in the visitors book which was a shame - we remembered in the taxi on the way to the airport, too late!
Thank you so much for all of your help in booking our trip. I will definitely be going back at some point in the future and will get in touch with you then to hopefully book one of your apartments again."

  • We really can't thank you enough for providing us not only with such a lovely place to stay but also your kind advice during the booking process. Your list of restaurants were particularly handy and spot on. The transfer company were very good and efficient - the cold water they provided when we landed was a nice touch. We were very happy with the studio flat. It had everything we needed and was perfect for our stay, you had thought of everything to ensure our stay was most pleasant.

  • Horizon Apartments: Daybreak

Did a lot of research before deciding on this accommodation and we got exactly what we thought.. Excellent location, well maintained, comfortable apartments which suited my wife and I and my elderly mother. Close enough to all the shops and restaurants of the resort for all 3 of us to be able to walk to them. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We were in the top floor "Daybreak" apartment which afforded excellent 360 degree views, also the layout and size of the apartment meant that we could have our own space and privacy from my mother if required. We would definitely recommend the "Atlantis Wellbeing Centre" based in the shopping centre across the road from the apartments, we had a Turkish bath there on our first night in the resort which really relaxed us in preparation to enjoy our holiday.

    — Brian M, 30 Jun 2011
  • We had a wonderful time at your apartment in Kalkan, thank you. It was our first visit to Turkey, and I have no doubt that we chose a great resort which was matched by the quality of accomodation. The apartment was immaculate and the cleaning service was excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending you to our friends and it is somewhere we would happily return to in the future.

    — Tim C, 12 Jun 2011
  • We would just like to say a huge 'Thank You' for giving us the opportunity to stay in your apartments. They really did have everything we could have possibly hoped for and more. So spacious and well equipped. We felt you had thought of everything the apartment could want. We were very impressed.
We pretty much had the pool to ourselves all week, which was a real treat and one we have not experienced before. We had such an action packed week. We swam at Kalkan, Kaputas (gorgeous) and Patara. We did a boat trip to Kekova, a canoe trip to Patara with a mud bath highlight which was fantastic - some people said this mud bath was much better that than Oludeniz which was more like muddy water. This one was like flopping into thick custard :-) We also swam in the river.
Kalkan itself - fantastic! Olive Garden restaurant and many of the suggested restaurants were also fantastic - loved the magician at Kaya :o). Excellent service and fab food. Kalkan is unspoilt, I guess it is a matter of hoping it stays that way.
Thank you once again for all you pre-holiday help and the holiday really was fantastic. I will be recommending you to family and friends.
    Kind regards, Kairen"

  • Villa Alexander

We had a superb stay in this tastefully appointed villa which has obviously been furnished by someone with a flair for interior design. The villa overlooks the bay at Kalkan offering wonderful views, with the pool area basking in sunshine all day long. The villa is equipped with everything you might need, the master suite on the top floor is worth a special mention, as are the views from its own balcony.

There’s extensive use of natural stone flooring, all en-suites are nicely appointed, the open plan living and kitchen area is spacious and ideal for group entertaining, the rattan outside furniture just makes resting or dining by the pool so comfortable – I could go on and on. Kalkan itself has such an excellent range of good quality restaurants, you’re really spoilt for choice and I feel by far the best I’ve experienced in Turkey, try also some of the restaurants in the hills overlooking the town.

Book a boat trip early, the boats are very popular, our skipper was extremely courteous and provided an fantastic day out. We stayed in Fethiye for two nights before our arrival at the villa which made good use of the prior weekend and allowed us to experience another part of this lovely region of Turkey.

  • Villa Alexander

I would defy anyone to stay at Alexander Villa without falling in love with it, with the glorious Mediterranean views from its every window and with Kalkan itself.

We planned a week there in mid-April and thanked heaven for the volcanic ash, which kept us there for a whole extra week.

We were there with our four adult children plus two of their partners…eight in all and Villa Alexander gave us plenty of space without the need to use the Ottoman room, which is like a separate apartment with its own entrance. We can be a prickly bunch but in two weeks we never felt we were too much on top of each other. A party of ten would not feel crowded.

The villa is furnished and decorated with a real designer’s eye. It is also superbly equipped. The garden is similarly spacious and comfortably chic, cleverly furnished like a series of extra rooms which provide different areas of seating for both sunbathers and shade-lovers, quiet readers and noisy social sorts.

It is no surprise to discover that owners, Jane and Richard Clifford have an interior design business near their home in Sussex. But as well as offering a beautiful villa, they are charming and helpful and were particularly kind to us when we found ourselves marooned in Turkey although we have never met.

Finally, Kalkan. A simply glorious village, heavily colonised by Brits but absolutely not the sort of Brits you feel embarrassed to share a nationality with. There must be a hundred restaurants and bars but you don’t see drunkenness or bad behaviour. The standard of cuisine is generally very high and even the simplest restaurant will pay great attention to the presentation of its food.

Kalkan isn’t for the faint hearted. It rises steeply from the shore in a little maze of steep,, narrow, streets. There are many hills and steps to climb if you want to explore the shops and restaurants but it always feels worth the effort.
